 Crunchy,nutty.slightly chewy cookies with the taste of biscoff spread and the goodness of oats in it is a must try for your kids! I guarantee that your kids won't say no to oats in this way.Added some cornflakes for extra bite in it and my kids just loved it.



Believe me my boys doesn't like oats.While making this i was not sure about they like it or not,but to my surprise they loved it,which makes me so happy that some healthy meal goes in their tummy. Hehe!Addition of biscoff gave it a nice toffee flavor.If the biscoff spread is not handy you can easily replace it with peanut butter.


Oats are one among the healthiest grains on earth.They’re a gluten-free whole grain and a great source of important vitamins, minerals, fiber and antioxidants.So if your kids love to have cookies just try this one.There are many recipe for oatmeal cookies but i loved this one because of the biscoff added in it.



Over to the recipe
Ingredients
  • 3/4 cup oats
  • 1/2 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 3 n 1/2 tbsp biscoff spread
  • 50 gm butter
  • 1 egg
  • 2 handful of cornflakes or any nuts of your choice
Method
  • Preheat the oven to 180 degree
  • In bowl mix together flour,oats,baking powder,baking soda, salt and keep aside
  • In a large bowl beat together butter and biscoff spread.
  • Then add sugar and beat well.
  • Add egg and vanilla beat well.
  • Now add dry ingredients and mix well until well combined.
  • Add the cornflakes and mix well with a spatula.
  • Line a baking tray with parchment paper and scoop out the cookie batter with an ice cream scooper by leaving inch space between each cookies.Bake it for 15 to 18 minutes.
  • Yummilicious cookies are ready.Let is sit for 10 minutes to firm up and relish


Note :If you don't like it too sweet less 2 tbsp sugar.



Have it with a cup of coffee or milk.Great way to treat your kids with love is making such deliciousness..

Calling out all the seafood lovers over there!!Pleasing, chatpata,spicy fired prawns with some aromatic and mild spices and marination.It's like a batter fried prawns.This will be an ideal starter or snack for a seafood lover.Scrumptious appetizer that prepares in no time.



Do you all wonder where i disappeared last week?I really can't stay away from my blog for more than 3 days if i'm here at my home!So that means i was out of station for a week enjoying the holidays with family in Malaysia.It was indeed a wonderful trip and the place was beautiful with full of greenery everywhere.Just loved the ambiance of the place and hospitality of people over there.And food we tried many of their traditional and authentic food,Was good!Kids had a great time too,full on masti and damaka!!I wish if someone could make my room like in hotels😜 where after all outing and fun you come back to see the rooms neat and clean and you just go relax and rest!haha!All over now back to routine and action.



Now don't think that i started experimenting the very next day itself, no way i'm super lazy!This was the one i clicked before the trip so that i can upload it when i'm back. Coming back to the recipe Prawn Koliwada and Koliwada Fish are dishes that originated in Mumbai.Koliwada Prawn was first cooked in the restaurants in Sion-Koliwada area of Mumbai.All i have to tell about this dish is if you are a seafood lover do try it.You can also make it with squid and fish fillet.



In this preparation prawn are first marinated and then the flours and other spices are added.You can make batter separately and mix too!But i prefer this method.Over to the recipe



Ingredients
  • 15 big prawns
  • 1 tbsp chilly powder
  • 1tsp ginger paste
  • 1 tsp galic paste
  • 2 tsp lemon juice
  • Some chaat masala
  • salt to taste
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 2 tbsp yogurt
  • 1 tbsp finely chopped mint leaves 
  • Some finely chopped corander leaves
  • 1/2 cup gram flour
  • 3 tbsp rice flour
  • 1 tsp pepper powder
  • 1 small onion sliced
  • Water as required
  • Some more chilly powder if needed
  • Oil to deep fry
  • Lemon wedges and some more chaat masala for garnishing
Method
  1. First marinate the prawns with chilly powder,salt,ginger garlic paste.lemon juice and yogurt for 10 to 15 minutes.
  2. Add sliced onion and rub well with hands
  3. Then put all other ingredients like gram flour,rice flour,cumin powder,chaat masala,pepper powder,chilly powder(for some more color and heat),mint and coriander leaves.mix well with your hands by pressing well to coat all the prawns.
  4. Now add required amount of water to get the consistency like this
  5. Yo can see the prawns are well coated with the batter.
  6. Now in a kadai pour some oil and when its hot enough deep fry it and serve hot with some green chutney or raita. Perfect treat with a cup of hot tea!
Note:I added onion for an extra crunchiness.If you don't like skip it.
Addition of rice flour give nice crispy coating.
Fry the prawns on medium flame until it's crispy and golden.


Hope you all will try it and relish it as how we did!You can adjust the heat by adding more or less chilly powder according to your taste.


Serve it with some lemon wedges and sprinkle some more chaat masala on top of it!Yummy,crispy,spicy prawn koliwada is ready to serve.

Perfect lazy day curry,but tastes equally good!Whatever it is we always get bored in doing same things, isn't it?Same in cooking too,for me more than having it cooking the same old curry is boring always.So whenever i feel like the menu is repeating will experiment something new and innovative.



Here The curry doesn't require any chopping or cutting everything goes straight into the grinder and then we are cooking it.I remember my mom used to make a Kadai Chicken,this curry after making got that exact taste!hehe!Maybe that grinding part gives it the same taste.



I was damn lazy that day after cleaning and all.So i'm not really in a mood to cook especially cutting n chopping,so just find an easy way to cook the curry and wala!I didn't meant to click while making the curry,but after tasting it,i want this to be on the blog and here is it.This will be an ultimate combo with Malabar Porotta.So what i did was called the hubby and asked him to get some porotta!😉hehee!



Over to the recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/2 kg chicken 
  • 1 tsp garlic paste
  • 1 tbsp ginger paste
  • 2 green chillies
  • 1 large onion
  • 2 large tomatoe
  • 1 small stick cinnamon
  • 2 cloves
  • 3 to 4 pepper corns
  • 1 tsp chilly powder
  • 1/2 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp fennel powder
  • 1 tsp kasuri methi(dried fenugreek powder)
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • Lots of coriander powder
  • 3 tbsp oil
  • 1 to 1 & 1/2 cup water
Method
  1. Grind together onion,tomato,cinnamon and and cloves with 1/2 cup water and keep it aside
  2. In a Kadai pour oil when its hot enough add in green chilly,ginger and garlic.Saute for few sec.
  3. Add chicken pieces(the flame should be in medium high,otherwise chicken tends to sweat)
  4. ans stir fry it for 2 to 3 minutes on high flame.
  5. Add chilly powder,saute well,
  6. Add coriander and turmeric powder mix and cook for few more minutes.(flame on medium heat)
  7. Now gently pour the onion paste and mix well add salt,fennel powder and some more water.
  8. Cover and cook on low flame until the chicken is done and the rawness of the veggies are all gone.
  9. Stir in between ,as we are using a grounded paste it may simmer and stuck to the bottom of the pan. 
  10. Add kasuri methi and coriander leaves.Switch off the flame.
Note: You can increase the amount of chilly powder if you can handle more heat.



It's delicious gravy with nice flavor of dried methi and fennel with the thick saucy texture.Try out this curry which makes in a jiffy.

Bread Pudding is one of that comfort food that most of us like to have and made with ease!How about a savory version of bread Pudding?A spicy salty bread pudding loaded with some cheese,milk, egg and yummy filling of mushroom and chicken!It tasted heavenly with that spicy white sauce!


Simple to prepare,good looking and most importantly delicious to eat...this is what we  all looking for ryt?Here is it! Perfect for any kind of parties,lazyday meal!You can serve it without the sauce too!The sauce here is totally optional.This is best served when its hot..



I have some leftover filling which i made for quiche and i want to finish it off with some simple recipe.When i was going through the you-tube i gotta see some of the spicy bread pudding,but here i didn't used that much of eggs,cream and all.Changed the recipe according to my guilt free version and tada here is it!Made it like a filling with slightly thick sauce and then mixed with bread and baked.It was yum yum yum!Lightly crispy top with that creamy filling and cheesy texture was awesome.



I made it in small qty,In a small dish.You can increase the qty as how you need.

Ingredients
For filling
  • Chicken breast fillet one (boil with salt,pepper and soy sauce) 
  • 2 cloves garlic 
  • 1 medium onion 
  • 1/2 capsicum 
  • 1 tsp pepper powder 
  • Handful of mushrooms
  • Some oregano or Italian seasoning 
  • Parsley 
  • 2 tsp olive oil 
  • 1tbsp all purpose flour
  • 1 n 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 egg 
  • 1/4 cup cream
  • salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp pepper powder
  • Mozzarella to cover the top
  • 10 slices of bread(any kind of bread works here,old one better)
  • Spring onions 
  • Mushrooms some for garnishing
Method
  1. In a pan pour 2 tsp oil add finely chopped garlic and saute.
  2. Add sliced onion and capsicum cook for few minutes add pepper,salt and oregano.
  3. Add mushroom and cook until its half done.Mix in boiled and shredded chicken.
  4. Now add a tablespoon of all purpose flour and mix well saute for a few sec.
  5. Pour in milk and and boil it until the mixture is lightly thick.Switch off the flame
  6. Add cream,1 egg Mix immediately or else egg will scramble
  7. Add cheese parsley and red chilly flakes.Mix well Check for seasoning and add.
  8. Now in a glass bowl arrange the bread slices pour the spicy custard and let the bread soak in the custard completely.
  9. Top it with some Mozzarella and arrange some mushrooms on top.
  10. Sprinkle some spring onions and let it rest for 10 minutes.
  11. Meanwhile preheat your oven to 200 degree.Bake it for 15 to 20 minutes or until the pudding is set.(In between if you feel like the top is browning quickly drop down the temperature to 180 and bake it until the toothpick inserted comes out clean.
For the Sauce
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 1 tsp tomato paste
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1&1/2 cup milk
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tsp cream cheese
  1. In a pan melt butter,add flour and cook until the raw smell disappear.
  2. Pour half of the milk mix well,add tomato paste,chilly powder and cook well until the rawness of the paste and chilly powder are all gone.
  3. Add cream cheese and mix well
  4. Now pour rest of the milk and salt.Cook until you get a thick saucy consistency.
  5. Throw in some spring onions and switch off the flame.


I don't like to cut the edges of the bread ,that will give a nice golden crust to the dish.

Notes:Old bread works best here.No need to arrange the bread neatly just cut and dump it onto the dish and then pour the filling.Make sure the liquid is enough to cover and soak the bread,otherwise you will get a dry pudding instead of creamy one.
You can skip the chicken and stick on to veggie.

    
Have it when it's hot.With or without sauce it taste yummilicious!

The chewy,chocolaty deliciousness that everyone should die for ! Brookies is brownie+cookies! Yay! Nothing can be better than this for the chocolate lovers!Slightly crispy crust and cakey chew soft center makes this cookie super yum!The perfect way to relish it is with a cup of milk.


Schools have been closed after final exam and its time to treat the kids as how they want. Kashif wants something chocolaty and sweet after his meal and he was insisting me to bake something!At-last i made these beauties.I have 2 more chocolate cookies on the blog like Mexican Hot chocolate cookie and Triple chocolate cookie.Frankly more than triple chocolate i love this one!Pure bliss of having chocolate!

 

Brookies are of two types , one is brownie batter baking like a cookie and the other one is brownie and cookie baking together.That means a layer of cookie and a layer of brownie baking in a same square pan.That may be a real indulgence!Next time will try that for sure!For the time being i need a simple and chocolaty something that kids could enjoy so tried this!



Treat your kids during this holiday by making some cute and tiny things for them which they are really glad to dig in!!🙂🙂You can check here  for kids friendly recipes.

Ingredients
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 20 grams butter
  • 1/4 cup chocolate chips 
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tbs walnut (optl)
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
Method
  1. In a heat proof bowl melt chocolate and butter together and keep it aside(microwave it)
  2. Sieve together dry ingredients and keep it aside.
  3. In a large bowl beat together eggs and powdered sugar until fluffy.
  4. Add vanilla essence and the melted chocolate in the egg mix and beat well.
  5. Then gently fold in the dry ingredients or beat lightly until everything is mixed up.
  6. The batter will not be thick like a cookie dough.You have to chill it for 1/2 to 1 hour until the dough is firm and solidified.(i freeze it for 45 minutes.It should be firm on touch)
  7. Preheat the oven to 180 degree.
  8. Scoop out equal size of the batter with the help of an ice-cream scooper and place it on a parchment lined baking sheet by leaving 2 inch space between each cookies.
  9. Bake it for 15 to 18 minutes at 180 degree.
  10. You can also serve this hot with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Notes: This cookie will stick to the bottom so don't forget to line baking paper .
Don't bake it more than 20 minutes it will get very hard.It will be soft when its out form the oven,but don't worry it will firm up.


This is such an amazing combination of textures and flavors like crunchy,soft,chewy and chocolaty goodness that everyone will love to have it!

So it's 10th of the month and time for yet another MFB challenge!Hope you all remember the challenge every month we have about different themes which makes the participation more exciting and interesting!This month's challenge is "Cooking from scrap book" .Yay it's quite interesting right! As a foodie, for sure everyone will have a scrap book which is very close to their heart. I searched for a unique one from my scrap book and finally end up with this recipe!



Hats off to Rafeeda(who host this) for doing such an amazing work,more than this she is working and blogging too!Masha Allah i must say she is a super woman!Eagerly waiting for the next challenge!This recipe is one of my favorite veg recipe,something different and scrumptious using chickpea.I mentioned about the dish long back in this post.I got it from my sis in law which was shared to her by a lovely friend and cousin Shabana. Thank you ladies for this delicious recipe!It's a great combo with puri and bature.



Coming back to the recipe,it is a delectable channa masala cooked in Chinese style.The boiled chick pea is coated and shallow fried first,then it's mixed up with tangy and sweet sauce.Don't think that channa can't be tasty in this way!You have to try it to believe that!

Ingredients
  • 1 cup chick pea boiled with salt
  • 2 tbsp cornflour
  • 1 tbsp all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
For Sauce
  • 2 small onions
  • 1 tomato
  • 1 capsicum
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 3 green chilies
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp chilly sauce or Schezwan sauce
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1/2 tsp vinegar
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil to shallow fry channa (chick pea)
  • Some cilantro 
  • Spring onions for garnishing
Method
  1. Boil Chick pea with salt drain and keep it aside.Don't over cook it.
  2. In a large bowl mix together chick pea,cornflour,all purpose flour,soy sauce and mix well to coat it
  3. In a deep bottom pan pour some oil and dump in the coated chickpea and shallow fry it until lightly golden and crisp.Stir it in between with light hands,but don't mash it.
  4. Here ready the chick pea
  5. In the same oil add finely chopped garlic and green chilies saute for few minutes
  6. Add finely chopped onions with salt and cook for 2 to 3 minutes
  7. Then add finely chopped tomato and capsicum cook for few minutes until the veggies are slightly tender.
  8. Add all sauces,pepper and mix well.Add the fried chickpeas and mix well,pour a dash of vinegar and sprinkle finely chopped cilantro.Just before serving garnish with spring onion.If you need gravy pour 1/4 to 1/2 cup water and let it simmer for few seconds.
Here ready the saucy,tangy channa masala.



This is a super delicious gravy that kids will definitely enjoy this!Hope
